Hyderabad, Sept. 19: CII Green Business Centre is strengthening industry academia collaboration through its national research and innovation platform.
The initiative took centre stage at the 25th CII Energy Efficiency Summit 2026 at HICC, Hyderabad.
The Academic Paper Presentation Session focused on Low Carbon Technologies and Energy Efficiency.
It brought researchers, scholars, faculty members, students and industry professionals together.
More than 40 research submissions were received from across India.
Following evaluation, 18 abstracts were shortlisted for presentation at the summit.
The shortlisted researchers presented their work before industry leaders, technology providers and sustainability professionals.
The research covered industrial decarbonisation, renewable energy, biofuels, cement and concrete.
It also included the built environment, circular economy materials and AI for industry and sustainability.
CII GBC Links Research With Industry Needs
K S Venkatagiri, Executive Director of CII Green Business Centre, said the platform aims to move research from laboratories to practical applications.
He said direct interaction between researchers and industry can help identify real world challenges and support technology adoption.
Venkatagiri said the initiative aims to create a national ecosystem connecting research, innovation and industry action.
The academic session also gave researchers an opportunity to receive expert feedback.
It helped participants understand industry needs and assess the practical relevance of their research.
For industry participants, the session provided access to emerging technologies, ideas and talent.
It could also create opportunities for research collaboration, technology pilots, internships and project engagements.
The shortlisted papers were evaluated by a multidisciplinary jury.
The jury included Prof. Jyotirmay Mathur of MNIT Jaipur as chair.
Prof. Morapakala Srinivas of BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus and Prof. Vijaya Lakshmi Thatiparthi of JNTUH were also members.
CII GBC said it envisions the platform as a national ecosystem involving educational institutions, industries, researchers and innovators.
The initiative also seeks to connect technology experts and sustainability practitioners.
Through networking, research proceedings and expert discussions, the platform aims to strengthen links between research and implementation.
It also seeks to create pathways for promising innovations to move towards wider industry adoption.
