The incident occurred at Gandhi Park, shortly after the ministers paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. As they interacted with reporters, a tree branch snapped and crashed to the ground just a few feet away from the media gathering and delegation.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the ministers were immediately moved to a safer spot by security personnel. Officials on the scene confirmed that a major accident was narrowly averted, and credited the swift response of the security team in ensuring everyone’s safety.

Public Safety Concerns Raised

The incident has sparked concern over public safety and tree maintenance in crowded public spaces. Locals and opposition leaders have urged the municipal authorities to conduct a thorough assessment of trees in parks and public areas, especially during the monsoon season, when weakened branches pose a greater risk.
