CM asks Centre for national farm policy

Hyderabad, Nov.29 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today reiterated that the centre has to announce its national farm policy with MSP. He chaired a cabinet meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan here with ministers and some officials.

The CM discussed paddy, Yasangi crops, support to farmers, national farm policy, preparedness to tackle the possible spread of Omicron virus and other issues. KCR expressed displeasure at the Centre for not coming up with its national farm policy. The Centre should formulate an action plan to lift paddy stocks and ensure MSP to the farm produce with acts he opined. The TRS MPs are raising the voice on state issues of paddy, power, MSP, water and other issues, he said. The Chief Minister asked the Centre to come up with a new farm policy by repealing the all the three farm laws being opposed by the farmers and the political parties.

He asked the health officials to get ready to tackle the health issues that may arise due to the Omicron variant which is prevalent in a few other nations. He reportedly asked the officials to keep a vigil at the airports on foreigners who come from nations facing such virus issues. The chief minister asked the health and other officials for effective coordination to complete the vaccination drive to overcome corona problems. He asked that more focus is needed on six districts to tackle corona problems with effective coordination. The districts that get vaccination drives are Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Mahabub Nagar, Adilabad,Komram Bhim and Nirmal districts respectively.

The health officials submitted a report of preparedness on Omicron variant attack, the corona vaccination drive, medicines, vaccines, facilities and health staff. The Chief Minister while taking stock of the health facilities directed the health minister T Harish Rao and others officials to ensure that the six districts get more vaccinations to complete the task. Ensure that the districts get vaccinated completely with special drives he said. The CM asked the health minister and officials to regularly monitor the vaccination, prepare to tackle the Omicron virus and put in place more staff, medicines, and injections with health experts.
