CM dedicates Mallanna Sagar, Announces Rs 100 cr for Irrigation Complex

Hyderabad, Feb.23 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today stating Mallanna Sagar Reservoir as the project of Telangana JalaHrudaya Sagaram, he dedicated the reservoir at a program near Siddipet that was built under the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation Project. He claimed that Mallanna Sagar will quench the thirst of Hyderabad and 10 districts as planned with its overall capacity of 50 tmc water. The Chief Minister took serious exception to the Opposition parties and somevested interests stalling projects and growth. He said there will be no drought now in the State with completion of the reservoir and irrigation projects.

“Without knowledge some fools were stalling the works of the projects and development and we took them as prestigious and entire team including Minister Harish Rao, the workforce, Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao made relentless efforts for its completion”. He also criticised the Opposition parties for frequently coming in the way of development and irrigation projects. “Our aim is fulfilled to turn the barren lands in the State into green fields as it is flourishing rural economy and agriculture with Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya schemes”, he added.

The Chief Minister announced Rs 1,500 crore to complete all other reservoirs and projects in the district and other places to push development, films shooting and tourism development. KCR said Rs 100 cr will be spent for an irrigation complex near the site and two four-line roads will be laid to the project site. “Our Kaleshwaram Project was telecast by Discovery Channel and displayed Times Square in New York”, he said. KCR asked Harish Rao, officials to visit other countries to develop this location on par with Burj Khalifa, Singapore and other buildings with scintillating buildings and colours to attract tourism.

KCR slammed the Opposition parties for unnecessarily moving the courts against the Reservoir and irrigation projects. He expressed concern at the way of the Opposition parties and erring social media to carry out misinformation campaign on the same. “With our efforts values of lands increased manifold, industries coming, pushing development like never before in seven years of Telangana”, he said.

KCR recalled that he was in Delhi when the case was filed against it and he spoke to High Court Chief Justice to protect the interests of entire Telangana as his family too lost the lands for Mid Manair dam construction. The CJ given orders and clarity to complete the project works, he said, adding that retired engineers and staff worked for its completion. He said Mallanna Sagar will give water to Siddipet, quench the thirst of Hyderabad and irrigate 20 lakh acres, he said. He also said the project capacity of 50 tmc will be completed in three phases. He said the officials will complete the Reservoir by increasing its capacity to 16 tmc now and then process will go on.

“We brought Godavari waters to cleanse up the feet of Komaravelli Mallanna”, he said. KCR vowed to complete the projects and asked Harish Rao and officials to address drought related issues and offer suitable compensation to the people who lost their lands. The Chief Minister excoriated the Opposition parties for coming in the way of development time and again. As many as 600 cases were filed against the irrigation projects. “I salute the officials, Engineers, staff and workers, who toiled for the completion of the reservoir and projects”, KCR stated. They all worked day and night by taking all odds and completed the project, he said. He also announced that he will dedicate soon the Palamur Project in Mahabub Nagar and Sitharama Project in Khammam districts. KCR took a dig at TD Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who gave Devadula project during statehood movement, which was now developed by the TRS Government as Sammakka Sagar. (Maxim News)
