Paying rich tributes to irrigation expert R Vidyasagar Rao on his death anniversary, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao recalled his services to Telangana State and its people. He said Vidyasagar Rao questioned the injustice meted out to Telangana region during the united Andhra Pradesh rule and also rekindled the spirit of separate statehood for the region among the people.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said in tune with aspirations of Vidyasagar Rao, the Telangana State was working hard round-the-clock to turn the parched lands of the State into a fertile one. He also stated that the engineers in the State took inspiration from Vidyasagar Rao and completed the Kaleswaram project in a record time. He felt that Telangana state emerging as Rice Bowl of India, was a true tribute to Vidyasagar Rao.
