CM Revanth Lays Foundation Stone For New Osmania Hospital Building

Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad, Jan 31 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone of the Osmania Hospital building, which is being renovated to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities to the people.

The Chief Minister along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, medical and Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, and other ministers, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the hospital. While the hospital is currently in Afzalgunj, the new building will be built at Goshamahal Stadium. The new building will come up on an area of 32 lakh square feet with a capacity of 2,000 beds.

The building, which will be built on an area of 26 acres, has been decided to be built to rival corporate hospitals.  In a recent review, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to make it suitable for the needs of the next hundred years. 

All types of super specialty medical services, separate operation theaters for each medical department, post-operative and ICu wards attached to each theater, and all types of diagnostic services will be available in one place in the lower part. The cost of the building is estimated to be around Rs. 2,500 crore to Rs. 2,700 crore.

After the inauguration of the new building, the number of doctors will increase by 20 percent.  Facilities will be set up to see 5,000 OP patients daily and to conduct robotic surgeries with 30 departments.

It is to be mentioned, here that during detailed reviews and planning sessions, the chief minister ensured that enough provisions were made for the current and future electric supply needs, fire emergencies, and other utilities. The new hospital building design has separate provisions for a power substation, and fire station as well as bio and non-bio waste management.

During the planning, authorities also ensured the relocation and rebuilding of a government school on the land parcel. “The highest priority has been given in designing the super-modern hospital to ensure the comfort and needs of patients, and the attending families and visitors.

Reception, waiting halls, canteens and cafeteria, resting places, and bathrooms have been provided on each floor and for every stakeholder of the hospital – staff, patients, visitors, guests, etc,” the CMO statement said.  (Maxim News)
