Hyderabad, Aug.4 (Maxim News): Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday termed the Kaleswaram lift irrigation project as a failed project and alleged that the State exchequer would incur a huge loss of Rs 80,000 crore. He also said that the technical mistake committed by the K Chandrashekhar Rao government posed a big problem as the water from the project was returning to the Kaleswaram reservoir from Medigadda Annaram barrage due to the failure.
The BJP leader said that the failure of the Kaleswaram project was the result of unilateral decisions taken by CM KCR. He demanded that the Chief Minister respond on the malfunctioning of the projects and reveal the truth to the people of the State. He also alleged that the decision of KCR over the Kaleswaram project has become a curse to the people of the State. Dattatraya also raised the issue of the pathetic condition of government hospitals in the State.
The former Union minister said the victims of seasonal diseases like malaria, dengue fever and chicken gunya were not getting proper treatment due to lack of amenities in the government hospitals. He also alleged that many poor people were dying due to negligence of the hospital authorities in extending medical treatment to them. He demanded that the State government provide protected water to the residents of all the villages and distribute blankets to the tribals of the State. (Maxim News)
