- Cold wave alert as temperatures drop across Telangana districts
- Cold wave alert continues in Andhra Pradesh, orange alert issued
A cold wave alert is in force for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as chilly conditions intensify across both states. The cold wave has tightened its grip, leading to very cold mornings and nights. However, afternoons remain relatively sunny in many areas. In several places, temperatures have dropped sharply. They have touched single digit levels. As a result, daily life has become uncomfortable for many residents.
According to the Meteorological Department, the cold conditions are expected to continue from tomorrow. The department said the cold wave will affect the region on Monday, December 14, and December 15. These conditions are likely to persist for the next two to three days. Meanwhile, strong cold winds are predicted during early mornings and late evenings. Therefore, the chill factor is expected to increase across both states.
In Telangana, the cold wave alert is more severe in northern districts. Places such as Adilabad, Medak, and Hanumakonda have recorded very low minimum temperatures. Officials noted that these areas are facing the harshest impact of the cold wave. Meanwhile, Hyderabad has also experienced unusually cold conditions. Some parts of the city have reported near single digit temperature readings. The sudden dip has surprised many residents.
In Andhra Pradesh, similar cold weather conditions prevail in the Manyam regions. The cold wave alert extends to these areas as well. The Meteorological Department has observed a steady fall in temperatures. As a result, residents in these regions are also facing cold mornings and nights. However, there is no indication of immediate relief.
The weather department has issued an orange alert for most districts of Telangana. Officials have warned people to remain cautious during this period. They said the cold wave conditions may continue through Tuesday and Wednesday. Therefore, authorities do not expect major relief in the short term. Meanwhile, officials continue to monitor weather patterns closely.
The cold wave alert underlines the severity of the current weather situation in both states. With strong cold winds and low temperatures forecast to persist, residents are advised to stay alert. Authorities will continue to track developments over the next few days.
