Commissioner R.V. Karnan Inspected Various Development Works In LB Nagar

Hyderabad, May 01: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan has directed the officials to take all necessary steps to complete the storm water drain works and the incomplete drain development works to prevent low-lying areas from being flooded during the upcoming monsoon season. On Thursday, the Commissioner along with LB Nagar Zonal Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil inspected the works.

On this occasion, Commissioner Nagole inspected the works of approximately 350 meters of storm water box drain from Sai Nagar to the RTO office, the works of the Uppal SRDP National Highway flyover, and the works undertaken to promote various sports in the block under the Bairamalguda flyover.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner directed the engineering officers to take all necessary steps to complete the incomplete works like storm water drains undertaken to prevent flooding in low-lying areas of LB Nagar zone and the Nala undertaken by SNDP before the next monsoon season. He advised them to inform him in case of any problems in this regard. The Commissioner suggested that the works to be undertaken in 6 blocks to promote sports in the block under Bairamalguda Flyover should be examined and the works should be undertaken in a way that would benefit the sportspersons.

The construction work of storm water drain from Nagole Sai Nagar to RTO office for 350 meters was inspected. When Commissioner EE Ramesh Babu was asked to explain how many colonies will benefit from the construction of storm water, the EE explained to the Commissioner that flood inundation will be prevented in about 5 colonies. When Commissioner EE was asked about the time it will be completed, he explained that it will be completed within a month. The Commissioner ordered the EE to complete it by the next monsoon.

The Zonal Commissioner was instructed to take all steps to complete all the unfinished works, including box drain and drain development works. Later, the Commissioner also inspected the work undertaken on the SRDP flyover at Uppal Chowrasta and the National Highway up to Narapalli CPRI on this occasion. When the Zonal Commissioner was asked to explain the reasons for the non-completion of the SRDP works, the Zonal Commissioner said… He explained to the Commissioner that the work would be undertaken as soon as the government approval was received as it had been reported to the government due to a variation in the flyover works.

The Commissioner was accompanied by Zonal Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Hayatnagar and Uppal Deputy Commissioners Tipparthi Yadaya, Anjaneyulu, Engineering Maintenance Engineers Karthik and Ramesh Babu and others.
