Concerns Everywhere: Indians Describe The Situation In Iran
Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 17 (Maxim News): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has safely brought back Indians stranded in Iran as the situation there deteriorated. As part of the first phase, several Indians reached Delhi after midnight on Friday.
Later, they spoke to the media about the situation in iran. They said that there are protesters everywhere in Iran. They said that there is no opportunity to come out of the house. They said that the situation is dire with the bodies of protesters on the streets and the cries of the people.
They said that they were extremely worried because they did not have the opportunity to explain their situation to their family members due to the suspension of internet access. They said that they were not even able to contact the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs. They said that these two weeks have passed like an era. They wanted to return to india. They thanked the central government and Prime Minister Modi for bringing them home safely at such a difficult time. The family members who reached the airport to pick them up said that they had not been in contact with them for many days. They said that they were worried about their situation in the wake of the tensions in Iran. But they are happy that their family members have returned with the initiative of the Modi government.
It is estimated that there are over 10,000 Indians (including students) currently living in iran. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is trying to contact them in various places. The internet services have been disrupted in many areas and intermittently working in others. The embassy is reportedly trying to reach them through alternative means. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has advised them to leave the country through available means. Steps are being taken to bring back those who are ready to return home safely. (Maxim News)
