Hyderabad: Congress leader and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said on Saturday that party-backed candidates will win 80% of the gram panchayat sarpanch seats in Kamareddy constituency. He spoke at a press conference in Kamareddy town. Congress district office hosted the event.

Shabbir Ali linked the expected success to development initiatives by Congress. These efforts strengthened grassroots support, he added. Also, four Congress-backed candidates won unopposed. No opposition nominees stood against them.

The winners include Kelothu Padma Swamy from Venuka Thanda in Machareddy mandal. Marupaka Anjamma Lakshmi Rajyam comes from Yellampet village. Banoth Sriram represents Ankireddypalli Thanda. Maloth Santosh hails from Bodagutta Thanda.

Meanwhile, the Telangana government offers Rs 10 lakh incentive to sarpanches elected unanimously. Congress will add another Rs 10 lakh for each. They will use MP funds, party SDF allocations, and personal contributions.

Shabbir Ali praised welfare measures under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The government provides Rs 304 crore in interest-free loans to women’s self-help groups statewide. In Kamareddy, Rs 3.25 crore worth of cheques went to beneficiaries. The third phase of these loans rolls out now across the state.

Furthermore, 3,500 Indiramma houses got sanctioned for women in Kamareddy. Households receive 200 units of free electricity. They also get subsidised fine rice and LPG cylinders at Rs 500. Women enjoy free bus travel. The government allots petrol bunks to eligible female beneficiaries.

Therefore, these steps boost Congress support at the grassroots level. Shabbir Ali made these points clear during the press meet. The unopposed wins signal strong local backing.
