Congress bus yatra schedule, route will be finalised soon: Uttam
Huzurnagar, January : Telangana Pradesh Congress Party (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy here informed that final touches were being given to the schedule and route of bus yatra which will begin in the second week of February.
Speaking to media persons after launching various developmental programmes in his constituency Huzurnagar, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that all senior leaders and DCCs were being consulted over the schedule and route of bus yatra. He said in view of forthcoming budget session of Assembly, the bus yatra would be held in more than one phase covering all 119 constituencies. He said a decision is yet to be taken on starting and ending points of bus yatra in the first phase. The mode of bus yatra too is being discussed as it would cover at least three Assembly segments in a day. He said that a draft proposal on the schedule, route, participants and mode of bus yatra would be sent to the Congress High Command for final approval.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi is likely to address public meetings at one or two places during bus yatra. A grand public meeting is also being planned on June 2 on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also said that the TRS Government might advance the Assembly elections to December this year. He said that the Congress party was totally prepared to face next elections and it would win with a landslide majority. He said that the Congress party would appoint incharges for all constituencies soon the final decision on party tickets would be taken by the party high command at an appropriate time.
Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy inaugurated a cold storage in Gudimalkapuram village of Chintapalem mandal of Suryapet district. He also inaugurated Chartered Account’s office in Huzurnagar, Lorry Owners’ Association office in Mathampalli and the Gram Panchayat Bhavan in Vardhapuram.
Speaking on the occasion, the TPCC chief slammed the TRS Government for not helping out the farmers who are in distress due to various factors. As against the tall claims of KCR Government, 3-5 farmers’ suicides are being reported from different parts of Telangana every day. He also condemned the TRS Government for not putting the mechanism in place to extend promised assistance of Rs. 4,000 per acre to farmers. He said that the assistance was being with so many riders that a majority of farmers would not gain anything from it. (Maxim News)
