Congress demands resignation of Rly Min

Congress today demanded the resignation of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu over the rising number of train accidents in the country and compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to those dead in the accident and Rs 5 lakh each for those injured.

Addressing a press conference AICC spokesperson Manish Tewari said, ”This is the sixth major railway accident in Uttar Pradesh and the 27th major accident since the NDA came to power at the Centre.

It underlines the complete insensitivity of this Government to Railway safety and security. What adds insult to injury is the decision to send only one Railway Board official on leave.
