Jeevan Reddy lodged a written complaint with State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini. He alleged that Dr Sanjay Kumar was distributing money and liquor in Jagtial and Raikal municipalities. He also accused the MLA of influencing officials during the election process. The MLA had earlier quit the BRS and joined the Congress, which triggered a long standing spat between the two while trying to dominate party affairs in the district.

In his complaint, Jeevan Reddy stated that such actions were affecting the conduct of elections. He alleged that the MLA was disturbing the electorate’s right to exercise their franchise in a peaceful atmosphere through his activities. The complaint has brought the internal rift within the Congress into the spotlight, especially in the run up to local body polls.

Meanwhile, Jeevan Reddy urged the Election Commission to intervene. He requested the Commission to appoint a special task force committee to curb such unethical practices. The appeal seeks immediate steps to ensure free and fair elections in Jagtial and Raikal municipalities.

The move comes amid heightened political tensions in the district. The dispute between the two leaders has already drawn public attention. Now, with the matter placed before the State Election Commission, further action will depend on the Commission’s response to the allegations made in the complaint.
