Congress Leaders Stage Protest On Diverting Rural Development Funds Released By Center

Parigi /Hyderabad, Dec 28 (Maxim News) Congress leaders burnt the effigy of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao in front of Parigi Bus Stand in Vikarabad district. They accused the State government of diverting the 15th Finance Commission funds released by the Central government for the development of villages.

Rasta Roko was organized on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway. They continued their protest against the State government. former Parigi MLA and Congress party district President Rammohan Reddy along with Sarpanches of various villages participated in the protest program.

It may be recalled that the Gram Panchayats are struggling due to a lack of funds for the past few months, many sarpanches have expressed their anger over the State government diverting the funds released by the Central government without the involvement of the sarpanches. It is alleged that the MPDOs directly diverted Gram Panchayat funds as per the orders of the State government, even though digital keys were set up to prevent misuse of funds..without submitting them to the Sarpanches.

They expressed their impatience that the State government is harassing them, even though they have completed all the works that the state government has assigned as part of the development of the villages, without funds. They warned that their movement will not stop now and they will bring people from the villages and hold dharnas. The resignation of 14 sarpanches from Asifabad is proof of the state government’s performance, he said. (Maxim News)
