Congress MLA Faces Complaints Over Comments on Actress Rashmika Mandanna
Bengaluru/Hyderabad, Mar 14 (Maxim News): Several complaints have been filed with the Women’s Commission against a Congress MLA for making inappropriate remarks about popular actress Rashmika Mandanna. The issue has sparked widespread debate in both political and film circles.
The complainants have urged the Women’s Commission to take suo motu action against Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga, alleging that his comments insulted the actress. They have also demanded full protection for Rashmika Mandanna.
Among those who filed complaints is Kodava National Council President N.U. Nachappa, representing the Kodava community in the Kodagu district. It is reported that complaints have already been sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Karnataka Home Minister Parameshwara.
The controversy dates back to an incident two weeks ago at the International Film Festival, where Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar made a statement implying that certain people in the film industry needed to be “kept in check.” His comments drew strong criticism.
In defense of Shivakumar, MLA Raviganiga reportedly said that if Rashmika Mandanna had been invited to the Bengaluru Film Festival a year ago, she would have been given a “fitting lesson.” Following this, members of the Kodava community filed a complaint, alleging that the actress was mentally disturbed by his remarks.
The issue continues to stir controversy, with growing demands for action against the MLA. (Maxim News)
