Congress Ready To Face Municipal Polls: Jagga
Hyderabad, June 24 (Maxim News): Congress MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy here on Monday said they were ready to face the upcoming Municipal elections in the State. He also said the people in the State were looking towards the Congress party in the State.
Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, Jagga Reddy urged the party high command to continue party MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy as TPCC president as there would be a by-election at Huzur Nagar constituency soon. He also said if the party was keen on changing the PCC president, it should consider the names of party leaders like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, A Revanth Reddy, Damodar Rajanarasimha, SA Sampath Kumar, Ponnam Prabhakar, Shabbir Ali and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
Jagga Reddy also made it clear that the Congress party was a national party and senior leaders of the party lost the elections as the people wished. He also said the people in the State wanted to see the Congress in the Opposition benches. He said he had urged the AICC in-charge Kuntia to appoint him as PCC president if there was any scope. Making it clear that he would work hard to protect the party in the State, Jagga Reddy said he would not demand a cabinet minister’s post in the event of the party coming to power. (Maxim News)
