Congress Slams Owaisi For Remarks On TPCC Chief

Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): The Congress party has strongly condemned MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi for his remarks on TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy on micro blogging site Twitter.

“Asaduddin Owaisi had no business to advise the Telangana Congress president on what he should speak and how he should protest against the CAA. Congress is a national party with absolute clarity on issues and its leaders are highly capable of handling agitations. Asaduddin Owaisi can continue to mislead people through his role as brand ambassador of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao. But he should not act as a spokesperson of Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar to deviate the issue,” Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail said in a statement on Thursday.

Abdullah Sohail said that the Congress has taken the right decision of declining Asaduddin Owaisi’s invitation to participate in the Nizamabad meeting. “Everyone knows that Owaisi has been trying to sabotage the anti-CAA protests in Telangana. He made all religious leaders surrender before KCR and the meeting at Pragathi Bhavan was only meant to assure that there would not do anything that displeases BJP Government at the Centre,” he said and asked why Owaisi did not invite his close friend and Minister K. Tarakarama Rao for Nizamabad meeting. Further, he asked as to why MIM was not holding joint protests with TRS in other areas.

“After meeting KCR at Pragathi Bhavan on December 25, Asaduddin Owaisi went on record saying KCR would make a big announcement on CAA and NRC within two days. But even after one week KCR is silent on issue while his son and TRS Working President K. Tarakarama Rao is giving contradictory and misleading statements. Instead of using social media to attack the Congress president, Owaisi should Tweet questioning KCR’s prolonged silence on CAA, NRC and NPR,” he said.

Abdullah Sohail said that the Police Commissioner not only denied permission for the Congress rally, but also declined permission for the Million March against CAA proposed to be taken out on December 28 by the Joint Action Committee of nearly 40 organisations. The JAC approached the High Court which directed the police to re-consider the application. Since the JAC is planning to hold Million March on January 4, Owaisi is planning an alternate protest march on the same day and same routes only to create confusion and suppress the JAC’s protest. “Everyone has understood that MIM president is playing into the hands of BJP Government and he is making all efforts to tone down the ongoing anti-CAA protests across Telangana, especially Hyderabad,” he said.

The Congress leader thanked Owaisi for admitting that MIM had hosted Indira Gandhi’s public meeting at Darussalam. He said Owaisi should also acknowledge that his party became stronger due to the nourishment which it got under previous Congress Governments.

Instead of being thankful, Asaduddin Owaisi has abused the Congress leaders from the same Darulsalaam ground. “Like you, we can never learn the language of sycophancy, slavery and surrender. Congress leaders speak from their heart and condemn injustice in the strongest words they could speak. They mean what they say and they stand by each and every word. Therefore, Owaisi must stop advising Congress leaders and instead use his skills to make KCR announce that CAA, NRC and NPR will not be implemented in Telangana,” he said. (Maxim News)
