Congress Slams TRS Govt On Excess Power Bill
Hyderabad, June 9 (Maxim News): Congress party former MLA and AICC Secretary Ch. Vamshichand Reddy today demanded the State government to come to the rescue of the journalists of the State. He expressed his deep condolences on the death of journalist Manoj due to corona virus infection.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, he alleged that Telangana State was the last in coming to the rescue of the needy people and the first in the imposition of electricity charges. He said that the state government was not bothered about the problems of the people of the state. He alleged that the CM KCR was ruling the state to make money. He said that it was unfortunate that the authorities of the state government were threatening to cut off the electricity connections if the consumers of the state didn’t pay the bills. He warned that the people of the state would teach a befitting lesson to the state government if it cut off the electricity connections and stopped the unemployed waged and salaries of its employees.
Reddy said that the statement of State Power Minister G. Jagadish Reddy that they would collect interest from the consumers if they opt for the installment payment of the power charged as very unfortunate while wondering if the minister has turned into a money lender. He said that the state government did not have any right to collect the power charges as it asked the people to not pay rents.
He alleged that the electricity department was doing a huge scam in the name of slabs. He demanded the state government to waive off all the bills of those consumers whose consumption did not cross 200 units Besides demanding it to only collect the bills of the last year from the consumers as per ERC norms .
