Hyderabad: Congress victory in the municipal elections drew praise from AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Delhi. The meeting took place during Revanth Reddy’s two day visit to the national capital. They discussed the massive victory achieved by the Congress in the municipal elections.
Priyanka Gandhi expressed happiness over the Congress victory in the municipal elections in Telangana. She said the support received by the party in urban areas shows the faith of the people. She believed this victory has given new enthusiasm to the party cadre. She also said it is a strong foundation for future elections.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi specially congratulated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She praised his leadership and said it played a key role in strengthening the Congress government in the state. On this occasion, Revanth Reddy explained to Priyanka Gandhi about the welfare and development programs implemented by the Telangana government. He added that people are satisfied as schemes are reaching them and transparent governance is being provided.
It is reported that the leaders also discussed strengthening the Hastam party in Telangana. They are said to have decided to prepare an action plan to further increase the party’s strength in rural and urban areas. Party sources said she assured the central leadership of full support for the successful rule of the Congress in Telangana.
