Congress will eradicate unemployment and bring economic prosperity to Hyderabad: Sameer

Hyderabad, April 29: Hyderabad DCC President and Congress candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency Mohammed Waliullah Sameer has vowed that if the Congress party wins the Lok Sabha seat, it will take decisive steps to address unemployment and stimulate economic growth in Hyderabad. This commitment is part of a broader strategy to improve infrastructure, boost investment, and ensure that residents benefit from various social welfare schemes.

Speaking to the media on Monday during his campaign, Sameer Waliullah explained that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is focused on transforming the Old City of Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy has often referred to this area as “Asli Hyderabad” and has launched several initiatives to attract substantial investment for its infrastructural development. For example, Revanth Reddy announced large-scale projects expected to bring in nearly Rs 50,000 crore in investment, contributing to the region’s economic prosperity.

One of the key projects is the Old City Metro Rail project, for which Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone just days after taking office. With an estimated budget of Rs 2,000 crore, the Metro Rail project is intended to cover a 5.5 km route from MGBS to Falaknuma, with stations at the Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Shalibanda, and Falaknuma. Once completed, this project is expected to significantly enhance connectivity, improve transportation, and boost local commerce.

Additionally, Sameer Waliullah highlighted the Musi Riverfront project, which is estimated to cost between Rs 40,000 crore and Rs 50,000 crore. This project aims to revitalize the Musi River, converting a neglected stretch into a vibrant riverfront similar to London’s Thames. The project, part of the ‘Vibrant Telangana 2050′ initiative, aims to revitalize a 55-km stretch of the river and make it a commercial hub, further contributing to the city’s economic revival. The project could lead to new business opportunities, attract tourism, and create employment, providing a significant financial boost.

In addition to these large-scale projects, the Congress party plans to continue its commitment to social welfare. Sameer Waliullah noted that thousands of residents in the Hyderabad constituency already benefit from five of the six guarantees implemented by the Congress Government. These guarantees include providing cooking gas cylinders for Rs 500, free electricity for up to 200 units, free travel for women in RTC buses, increased health coverage through Aarogyasri to Rs 10 lakh, and housing for poor families. With nearly 24 lakh applications received through the Praja Palana program, about 5.5 lakh of those applications are from the Hyderabad constituency alone. This substantial interest in social welfare programs demonstrates the Congress party’s impact and commitment to supporting Hyderabad’s citizens.

Sameer Waliullah urged voters in the Hyderabad constituency to resist the divisive politics of the MIM and BJP, suggesting that these parties are focused on personal gain. He highlighted that while the Congress party is committed to promoting economic empowerment and positive change for all, the MIM and BJP are largely responsible for Hyderabad’s backwardness. “The MIM has failed to represent the constituency effectively since 1984, and the BJP Government at the Centre hasn’t allocated a single rupee for Hyderabad’s development,” he noted.

Sameer criticized the MIM for its lack of tangible achievements and accused the BJP of neglecting Hyderabad’s development needs. He argued that these parties are resorting to intimidation and fear to secure votes in the Lok Sabha elections without any record of success in the past and no concrete plans for the future.

The Congress candidate believes that the only way to bring real change to Hyderabad is through a government that prioritizes economic growth and the welfare of its people. He emphasized that the Congress party, with its plans to boost infrastructure and implement welfare schemes, is the best choice for Hyderabad’s future.

Sameer Waliullah expressed optimism about the growing support for his campaign, noting that many former MIM and BJP members have joined the Congress party. He expects this trend to continue, strengthening the Congress’s position in Hyderabad and enhancing its ability to secure victory in the upcoming elections. (Maxim News)
