Coordination Meeting For Bakrid Festival 2024

Hyderabad, June 15 (Maxim News): A comprehensive coordination meeting was convened at the DCP South Zone Office, Hyderabad, today, to finalize the preparations and ensure effective inter-departmental coordination for the upcoming Bakrid festival.

The meeting was presided over by DCP South Zone, Sneha Mehra, alongside the GHMC Zonal Commissioner, Venkanna. Key participants included Additional DCP, Shaik Jahangir, and senior officials from various departments including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), and GHMC Sanitary, Veterinary, Engineering, and Electrical Departments.

The primary agenda of the meeting focused on the following crucial areas to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of Bakrid:

 Animal Waste Management: Strategies were discussed for the efficient collection and disposal of animal waste to maintain cleanliness during the festival. Plans include the deployment of sufficient tippers and JCBs for effective waste collection and transportation.

The HMWSSB and Engineering departments addressed the importance of monitoring and maintaining the sewage systems to prevent blockages and ensure an uninterrupted water supply throughout the festival period.

Emphasis was placed on deploying adequate staff and resources to manage the increased waste generated during Bakrid. A robust plan for enhanced sanitation measures was outlined.

 Distribution of Waste Disposal Covers: Arrangements were made to distribute covers to residents for the proper disposal of animal waste, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment.

The meeting discussed ensuring the availability of essential services such as an uninterrupted power supply and the maintenance of public infrastructure during the festival.

DCP  Sneha Mehra and GHMC Zonal Commissioner Venkanna highlighted the importance of seamless liaison among all departments. They emphasized the need for proactive measures and a real-time response mechanism to address any issues that may arise during the festival. This coordinated approach is aimed at facilitating a smooth, safe, and joyous celebration of Bakrid for all residents. (Maxim News)
