Corn Is Key In Ethanol Production
Hyderabad, July 14 (Maxim News): Agricultural scientists and experts have suggested that the cultivation of corn is crucial for the production of ethanol and other needs in India. Cultivation of maize-based crops should be encouraged. they want to develop vangadas that can withstand different climates. It is believed that the yields should increase and the cost of production should decrease.
A strategic planning meeting was held in Hyderabad, under the auspices of the Indian Maize Research Centre, Ludhiana, on Maize Cultivation Enhancement. It was presided over by SK Pradhan, ADG, Ludhiana, IIMR, HHS Jat, agricultural scientists Bhim Prasanna, Arunjoshi, ML Jat, representatives of agricultural experts, seed companies and the poultry sector participated.
Experts said that maize is the major crop worldwide and its production has increased to 33.6 million tonnes annually. He said that India has taken steps to produce ethanol as an alternative source of crude oil. It is said that corn, sugarcane, and oil will be used for this purpose.
By 2025-26, 14 billion liters of bio-ethanol is required. India is making preparations to produce 50 percent of it, for which additional production of 17 million tonnes of corn is required.
Accordingly, scientists and experts have suggested that the farmers should be sensitized across the country and plans should be made to increase the cultivation of maize. (Maxim News)
