Hyderabad, Jan.30 (Maxim News): The Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad, organised a five-day “Creative Radio Production Workshop” at the video studio of the department recently. Two esteemed faculty from the German Radio Mischpoke Ralf Wendt and Jasmina Al-Qaisi trained the students in production of different content for the radio.
Students pursuing first and second years of Masters in communication took part in the workshop. They were asked to creatively reproduce a piece from a literary text which they could easily relate with, by making use of various sounds and sound effects. Later, they were also taught lessons on sound editing. At the end of the workshop, the students came up with the improvised versions of the texts that they chose and their works were broadcast live in the university’s community radio Bol Hyderabad 90.4. “It offered a platform and guidance to produce creative pieces,” said Treesa Reena John, a student of first year MA Communication who took part in the workshop.
The campus radio, in collaboration with Radio Mischpoke, set up a radio station in the 10th edition of Hyderabad Literary Festival, which was held at Vidyaranya High School, Saifabad from January 24 to 26. The student volunteers of the workshop team recorded and created various contents by attending different sessions and interacting with different people. The same was broadcast in Bol Hyderabad 90.4 and in Radio Mischpoke. Besides, the students also got an opportunity to do live shows, which was a new experience for most of them. Ananya Mukhopadhyay, another participant was extremely excited because her work and her friends’ works are going to be broadcast in Austria, Germany and Europe. (Maxim News)
