CRPF Jawan Injured In The IED Blast In Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Raipur/Hyderabad, Nov 7 (Maxim News): The first phase of assembly elections started in Chhattisgarh, there were explosions by Maoists. A CRPF jawan on election duty was injured in this incident. The attacks took place in Naxal affected Sukma district.

A CRPF jawan was going from Thondamarka to Elmagunda village as part of his duties, the jawan stepped on the IED planted by the Naxals. The jawan was seriously injured in the blast.  The jawan has been shifted to a local hospital and undergoing treatment.

District Police Officer Kiran Chawan said that he is currently healthy. It has been revealed that the jawan has been identified as Srikanth. In the wake of the elections, a BSF Jawan in two patrolling teams was also injured in an IED blast planted by Naxals on Monday.

The first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh continues today. Elections are being held in 20 Constituencies in Naxal-affected areas, and 600 polling booths have been set up to conduct polling smoothly. The second phase of elections will be held in 90 seats on November 17. (Maxim News)
