Cyber ​​Warriors In TS Police Stations For Cyber Crime Prevention: DGP

Hyderabad, Feb 22: The police have deployed Cyber Warriors in all police stations in the state to curb the rising number of cyber-based crimes. Police personnel were specially selected and trained at the rate of two in rural police stations, three in semi-urban police stations and five in all commissionerate police stations.

About 1988 police officers were selected and a special training program was set up for a week from today. The training program was inaugurated by the DGP at the inaugural meeting.

M. Mahender Reddy said this is the first time in the country that the police force has deployed cyber warriors in all police stations in the state to curb the growing number of cyber crimes in the face of digitalization of human life. He said cyber crimes were being committed remotely from any part of the world in the current era of 4G mobile services extending to remote villages as well. He said that these cyber warriors would play a key role in effectively detecting and preventing these cyber crimes, which are on the rise, and effectively investigating cyber crimes.

The DGP said that 17 guidelines have already been formulated and implemented in the day-to-day duty of police officers in all police stations in the state and henceforth prevention of cyber crimes will be the 18th rule.

He said that cyber crimes are different from traditional crimes and special training is being imparted in dealing with cyber based crimes to detect them, detect them in advance, investigate and motivate the people. He said that every crime incident that happens now has a cyber crime related component. He said the crime investigation would be completed expeditiously if these cyber warriors provided assistance to the officers investigating common crimes.

He said that cyber criminals were committing crimes in a modern manner on a daily basis and the state police force also needed to be updated from time to time in this regard. DGP Mahender Reddy said that the current year 2021 has been declared as the Cyber ​​Safety Year on January 1, as part of which IG Rajesh Kumar has been appointed as the Special Officer for the Division.
