The cyclone, which first made landfall in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday evening, caused widespread disruption across parts of the state and neighboring Telangana, including traffic jams and severe waterlogging.

“The cyclone has been weakening for the past six hours and may turn into a depression within the next six hours. Northern and eastern districts of Telangana are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain, while three districts may see extremely heavy rainfall. It is moving north and northwest at a speed of 15 kmph.

Tomorrow, some areas will get light to moderate rain, while a few isolated places may receive heavy rain. Weather conditions across Telangana are expected to improve after tomorrow,” IMD scientist Dr A. Dharma Raju said after the landfall.

Meanwhile, several vehicles were stranded on the Hyderabad–Srisailam highway after a part of the road near Nagarkurnool was washed away by torrential rain starting late Tuesday night. Floodwaters also inundated railway tracks and platforms at Dornakal station in Mahabubabad district.

Warangal and Hanumakonda were among the worst-hit areas, registering rainfall above 300 mm — the highest total in Telangana this season.

A major rescue operation took place at Warangal’s Welfare Degree College for Women, where 375 students were trapped due to flooding.

The Telangana State Police Disaster Response Force successfully evacuated the students using ropes and a human chain, according to a report by the Times of India.

The IMD has forecast partly cloudy to hazy conditions for Hyderabad from November 1 to 6. Temperatures will remain between 30°C and 32°C during the day and drop to around 21°C at night.

Humidity levels are expected to gradually decrease from around 80% in the morning to near 50% in the evening as the week progresses. These conditions indicate that Hyderabad’s weather will stabilize further after the cyclone’s withdrawal.
