D-4 Canal Flooded: Mannempalli SC Colony Submerged

Karimnagar/Hyderabad, Jan 12 (Maxim News): The D-4 canal, which carries water from Thotapalli Reservoir to Manakondur at Mannempalli in Thimmapur mandal, collapsed in the early hours of Sunday morning. This caused a large-scale flood in the residential houses of the SC colony in the village. The locals are facing serious problems as large-scale flood water has been entering the village since early morning.

This water reaches several villages in the Thimmapur and Mankondur mandals through the D-4 canal from the Thotapalli reservoir. However, farmers have diverted the culverts of small canals to allow water to flow from Mannempalli to Manakondur.

Apart from this, the canal at SC Colony is in poor condition and is frequently cut off. Locals are complaining that the authorities are not taking action even though it has been cut off five times so far.

The villagers are expressing their grief that the authorities are paying attention even though the canal is frequently clogged and water enters the houses. They are demanding that the government respond and ensure that this does not happen again.

The streets of SC Colony in the lower area were flooded after the canal burst its banks. The flood reached the crop fields in the lower area. Local former Sarpanch Medi Anjaiah and Deputy Sarpanch Venkatesh informed the authorities. Upon learning of this.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay instructed Collector Pamela Satpazthi to take immediate relief measures. Manakondur MLA Dr. Kavvampally Satyanarayana came to Mannempalli to monitor the situation. There is no trace of the authorities till now. (Maxim News)
