Dayakar Rao Directed Officials to Reinstate Service of Field Assistants

Hyderabad, Aug.10 (Maxim News): Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday directed the officials concerned and district collectors to take back all the field assistants into service with the immediate effect.

The State government has taken this decision following the assurance given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during the last Assembly budget sessions that all field assistants would be taken back into service on humanitarian grounds.

Three years ago, the State government removed the field assistants engaged in implementation Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) from services for allegedly involving in the misuse of funds. Since then, the removed field assistants with the support of various political parties and organisations launched the agitation and organised various protest programmes demanding to reinstate their service.

They also pleaded with the State government on several occasions and submitted memorandums to the Chief Minister urging the reinstate of their service. KCR took their pleas into consideration and announced the reinstatement of their service during the last Assembly sessions.

On the occasion, officials concerned and district collectors were directed to take all the field assistants into service from Wednesday onwards and to depute them in the previous positions.

With the State government’s decision, a total of 7,305 field assistants is resuming the duties across the Telangana. (Maxim News)
