DCA Raided Shops Operating Illegally Without Drug License And Seized Stocks
Hyderabad, July 27 (Maxim News): Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana raided a medical distributor named Wareworx Pvt. Ltd. located in Moosarambagh, Hyderabad, which was operating illegally without a drug license. During the raid, the DCA seized stocks worth Rs. 3.5 lakhs from the premises.

In a separate event, the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana raided a quack’s clinic and seized drugs stocked for sale at Nallagandla, Serilingampally Mandal, Rangareddy District.
In separate events, the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana seized certain medicines due to misleading advertisements: a) Mensoguard Syrup, an Ayurvedic medicine, claimed to treat ‘Female diseases (in general)’.

b) Tulasi Churna, an Ayurvedic medicine, claimed to treat ‘Fever’. c) Ortho Pain Oil, an Ayurvedic medicine, claimed to treat ‘Rheumatism’.d) Zecuf Cold Medicated Tablets, an allopathic medicine, claimed to treat ‘Fever’.e) Ovaryl Forte Syrup, an Ayurvedic medicine, claimed to treat ‘diseases and disorders of the uterus’.
Raid Conducted at Unlicensed Medical Distributor in Moosarambagh, Hyderabad Drugs Control Administration, Telangana officials, acting on credible information regarding the illegal stocking and sale of medicines, raided a medical distributor named Wareworx Pvt. Ltd. located on SBI Officers Colony Road, T Junction, Moosarambagh, Malakpet on 26th July, 2024.

During the raid, DCA officers detected unauthorized stocking of huge quantities of medicines for sale. 19 varieties of medicines including habit-forming drugs, steroids, antibiotics, abortifacient drugs, anti-hypertensive drugs, anti-diabetic drugs etc. are found stocked for sale at the premises. DCA officials seized the stock of total worth Rs. 3.5 lakhs during the raid.
G. Anil, Drugs Inspector, Malakpet, B. Govind Singh, Drugs Inspector, Secunderabad, P. Renuka, Drugs Inspector, Musheerabad and M. Surendranath, Drugs Inspector, Begumpet are among the officers who carried out the raid.

DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis. Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
Wholesalers/Stockists who supply medicines to such unlicensed entities, who are stocking and selling drugs without a drug license, are also punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and stringent action shall be taken against such Wholesalers/Stockists. Stocking drugs for sale without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment for up to five years.
Persons who make misleading advertisements regarding drugs for treatment of certain diseases and disorders are punishable under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, with imprisonment which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both.
