Death Toll Reaches 442 In Indonesia Due To Typhoon Senar
Sumatra/Internet/Hyderabad, Dec 1 (Maxim News) Indonesia has been devastated by Typhoon Senar. The storm has killed around 442 people. Heavy flooding has caused extensive damage.
Landslides have occurred. Destruction has also occurred in Thailand and Malaysia. Around 170 people have died in Thailand. Rescue operations are ongoing in Indonesia, which was hit by Typhoon Senar. The damage is heavy on the islands of Sumatra.
Thousands of people are without food. In some places, buildings and houses have been washed away by floods. It is estimated that 900 people have died this month due to typhoons in the Philippines, Sri Lanka and other South Asian countries.
About 200 people have lost their lives due to floods in North Sumatra alone. Another 200 people are missing. Satellite images show that the damage is very severe. In some areas, even mobile signals are not available. Due to this, the people of that area are facing serious difficulties. They are struggling for food.
Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto is visiting the areas affected by Typhoon Sainar.
Officials said looting was taking place for food and water. However, they say that relief funds are now being received, and the looting has stopped. (Maxim News)
