Designer on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s first day at work since turning mother
Over the past few months, Kareena Kapoor Khan flaunted her baby bump with utmost confidence, setting a precedent for tinsel town ladies. Now, barely a few days after giving birth to a baby boy, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi (born on December 20, 2016), Bebo is set to walk the ramp at a fashion week next month.
Though the actress is on a three-month maternity leave, in her words “nothing can keep her away from the spotlight for too long.” A source close to Kareena says, “The final dates of the show are still being worked out. Kareena has given her nod to Anita Dongre (fashion designer) already.”
Speaking to hitlist, the designer says, “For my couture label, the year begins with a perfect collaboration with a popular fashion week’s grand finale. The brand [Kareena is the ambassador] is launching a new range, titled Liquid Gold. It’s too soon to reveal details about the upcoming collection. But I’ll say it’s going to be glazed in gold like the sun-kissed sands of Rajasthan.”
Besides the fashion week, the actress will also shoot for Dongre’s label soon. “We’re just completing a highly successful season for our contemporary-wear label. Kareena has been a wonderful muse, and we’re already preparing for our next shoot with her in a couple of months.
It’s like she was never on a break. Her sheer commitment to work is exemplary. She, for me, embodies the invincible spirit of every woman, who so skilfully balances all the roles she has to play, and with immense grace,” adds Anita.
On the film front, Kareena will start shooting for Veere Di Wedding in April. “I have been telling my managers this is the only film that I really want to do and have been excited about since Udta Punjab and Ki & Ka (both 2016),” she had told us in an earlier interview.
