DGGI uncovers Rs 217 crore GST fraud in Telugu states

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (Maxim News): : The Directorate General of GST Intelligence uncovered a major GST fraud involving Rs 217 crore across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Officials conducted raids in Hyderabad based on specific intelligence inputs.

The investigation exposed a network of nearly 72 shell companies operating across both states. Officials said the firms created fake transactions worth Rs 1,472 crore without any supply of goods or services.

DGGI teams carried out simultaneous searches at key offices in Hyderabad. They also conducted inspections at several locations in Andhra Pradesh.

During the raids, officials seized crucial digital evidence. They also collected copies of fake invoices linked to the alleged fraud.
