DGR to Host Job Fair for Ex-Servicemen in Ahmedabad Today

Ahmedabad: In a significant initiative to support the reintegration of military veterans into the civilian workforce, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (Ministry of Defence), under the aegis of the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), will organize a Job Fair for Ex-Servicemen on July 25, 2025, at the Chatrapati Shivaji Auditorium, Ahmedabad Military Station, Gujarat.

This career-focused event aims to bridge the gap between skilled veterans of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force and top recruiters from across industries. The fair will serve as a dedicated platform for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) to showcase their talents and transition into meaningful civilian careers in sectors such as security, IT, administration, logistics, engineering, and healthcare.

Veterans Bring Leadership and Discipline to Industry

The job fair highlights the Ministry’s commitment to harnessing the unique strengths of veterans — leadership, discipline, problem-solving, and technical expertise — to meet the growing demands of India’s corporate and industrial sectors.

Recruiters participating in the event will gain free access to resumes of highly skilled, mission-ready professionals, offering a win-win scenario for both employers and job-seeking Ex-Servicemen.

Nationwide Effort to Resettle and Empower ESM

The Ahmedabad event is part of a broader plan, with 18 such job fairs scheduled across India during FY 2025–26. This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to the welfare and resettlement of veterans, ensuring their skills and service are recognized and rewarded in civilian life.
