Hyderabad, Oct 22: Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) of protecting each other. He also criticised the Congress government over its handling of farmers’ issues and alleged corruption in irrigation project designs.
Speaking at a media conference in Nizamabad, Arvind claimed that farmers in Telangana were facing worsening conditions. He alleged that the government failed to take timely measures despite knowing about the possible impact of El Niño on agriculture.
The BJP MP demanded that the government announce compensation of ₹50,000 per acre before taking a decision on declaring a crop holiday.
Dharmapuri Arvind Predicts BJP Victory in 2029 Elections
Arvind alleged that changes in irrigation project designs involved large-scale corruption. He also claimed that the Congress and BRS would eventually come together politically.
Taking a swipe at BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Arvind said growing a beard would not make him the Chief Minister. He also claimed that the Congress high command was seriously concerned about issues surrounding Revanth Reddy.
The MP expressed confidence that the BJP would defeat both the Congress and BRS in the 2029 elections. He predicted a political “tsunami” in favour of the BJP and ruled out an alliance with any party.
Promises Support for Turmeric Farmers
Arvind said the BJP would act on its promises if it came to power in Telangana. He specifically pledged to take steps to ensure turmeric farmers receive ₹50,000 per quintal for their produce.
He said the party would initiate measures to fulfil the promise after forming the government. Arvind added that he was willing to provide a written bond, if necessary, to demonstrate his commitment.
His remarks focused on farmers’ compensation, irrigation-related allegations and the BJP’s preparations for the next Telangana Assembly elections.
