DICCI joins hands with LDF India Expo organizers to explore business opportunities in Livestock, Dairy, and Fisheries for the benefit of Dalit Bandhu Scheme beneficiaries

Hyderabad: LDF(Livestock Dairy & Fisheries Exposition) India, the  Exhibition organizers, and the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) join hands to guide Dalit Bandhu Scheme Beneficiaries to create awareness about opportunities in Livestock, Dairy, and Fisheries and help them start businesses or industry and explore business prospects.

Addressing a press conference at Hitex on Monday evening, Mr. Narayana Dasari, Coordinator for DICCI said Rs 18000 crore was disbursed under this scheme first time in Huzurabad.  As you all know, the scheme envisages granting a one-time financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to each Dalit family. This initial capital was given in Huzurabad to help them start an enterprise or buy an asset which gives them recurring earnings.

Subsequently, it was extended to other places. In its first phase, nearly 32000 people got benefitted.  The majority of the beneficiaries have set up businesses in the Transport sector.  About 2000 units were set up in animal husbandry, 1800 to 2000 in dairy and 1500 in goat farming.

Adding further Mr Arun Kumar, DICCI Next Gen Convenor said that some of them were wise investments, and others were not so wise. This was the stage DICCI stepped in to handhold them to choose a business more wisely.

The Cabinet in March this year decided to extend the Dalit Bandhu scheme to 1.3 lakh families across the state in the second phase in 118 of the state’s 119 Assembly constituencies, having covered Huzurabad in 2021 and 2022. Now it is expected that in the second phase of the Dalit Bandhu Scheme disbursement, the Government has already made it clear that 1100 people will be identified in each constituency. Now with the support of the LDF, we would like to catch hold up with the beneficiaries and with the support from LDF Expo organizers, DICCI would like to create awareness about business opportunities in Livestock, Dairy, and Fisheries, he added

According to him, the Government has disbursed Rs 18000 crore in Huzurabad, Rs 32,000 crore in its first phase and now it is likely to disburse about another Rs 30,000 crore and above.    Also, the state Cabinet decided to hold the Dalit Bandhu celebrations on August 16 each year to coincide with the launch of the scheme on August 16, 2021, in Huzurabad. As this date is fast approaching and Livestock Dairy and Fisheries Expo is going to be held from September 21st to 23rd, we called for this press conference to create awareness.

We will also tie up with other Industry Expert bodies to explore similar business opportunities for the Dalit Bandhu Beneficiaries to explore more opportunities in those sectors as well, they added.

Mr. Sambit Mund of Hitex said LDF India is the nation’s first-of-its-kind comprehensive premier livestock, dairy, and fisheries expo.  It will be held from September 21st to 23rd, first time in India at Hitex in Hyderabad.
