Dream of Having Medical College in Each District in Telangana to Become a Reality Soon: KCR

Warangal, Oct. 1 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the dream of having a medical college in each of 33 districts in Telangana is going to become a reality soon.

Speaking after inaugurating the Prathima Relief Institute of Medical Sciences, Medical College, and Hospital at Mulugu Crossroads here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said there were only 2,800 MBBS seats and 1150 PG seats till 2014 however, after the formation of Telangana State, the number of MBBS seats have been increased to 6,500 while PG seats are gone up to 2500.

He said despite continuing discrimination by the Centre, the State government had set up 12 new medical colleges apart from sanctioning medical colleges to each of the 33 districts and added that the newly sanctioned medical colleges would start functioning soon.

” I am sure that the number of medical seats in Telangana will reach 10,000 soon and students from Telangana need not go abroad anymore for medical courses in the future,” KCR said.

The Chief Minister also lashed out at the Union Ministers who are criticizing the TRS government in Telangana for political reasons and on the very next day, the same Ministers are presenting the awards to the State in New Delhi praising the development.

Stating that the country has abundant natural resources as well as a multi-talented youth, the Chief Minister called upon the youth and intellectuals to keep aside the divisive forces and work together for the development of the country.

Health Minister T Harish Rao, R & B Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar, Planning Board Vice-Chairperson B Vinod Kumar, Prathima Group chairman Boinpally Srinivasa Rao, MLAs D Vinay Bhaskar, N Narender, T Rajaiah, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, Jeevan Reddy, and others were present.

Later, KCR inspected the construction of the super specialty hospital on the premises of the old Warangal Central Prison in Warangal City. Warangal District Collector B Gopi, MGM Hospital Superintendent Dr V Chandrashekar, KMC Principal Dr Mohandas, Warangal East MLA N Narender and others were present (Maxim News)
