Earthquake In Ladakh: Is There A Danger Looming For Delhi?

Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 19 (Maxim News): An earthquake jolted the Union Territory of Ladakh. An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the Leh region of Ladakh on Monday (January 19) morning, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.

It was reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 171 km below the surface of the earth at 11.15 am on Monday. Earlier, it was reported that the earth shook with a magnitude of 2.8 in Delhi. This has put the authorities on alert. They warned that there is a chance of earthquakes again in the Leh and Ladakh regions along the Himalayan belt. The emergency rescue team has been put on high alert.
