EC failure warrants polling under military supervision in Munugode: Niranjan

Hyderabad, Oct.20 (NSS): TPCC senior vice president G. Niranjan today said the mechanism of the Election Commission has totally failed in creating a fair and impartial election environment, in the Munugode Assembly constituency, which is going for the by-poll.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Niranjan said a situation is emerging to hold elections under military supervision. If the State and district election machinery was running under the influence of the ruling party in the State, it is clear that the Central Election Commission is running under the influence of ruling BJP party, at the Centre. Pressuring the Returning Officer to change the allotted symbols of a candidate itself reflects the present circumstances, he said, adding that observers from the Election Commission are unable to control the situation.

Niranjan said there was no clear-cut policy with the CEO office for granting permission for digital campaign vehicles for the political parties. “For the last five days, our people are going around the CEO and RO offices for getting permission. (NSS)
