ED filing cases against Gandhi family due to public support: Jeevan Reddy
Hyderabad, June 22 (Maxim News): Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy today claimed that Centre’s Enforcement Directorate was filing false cases against Gandhi family as it was not able digest the public support being received by it.
Speaking to media persons at Jagitial, the MLC said first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru founded National Herald during India’s freedom struggle and added that the Congress had paid ₹90 crore on its behalf. He made it clear not a single rupee of financial transactions took place on behalf of the party. He also said the Congress had only transferred its shares when the National Herald newspaper was in crisis.
He alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was harassing Rahul Gandhi in the name of the ED cases and National Herald paper. He recalled that Janata Party government at the Centre also harassed Indira Gandhi. Now, the Narendra Modi government was harassing their party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He said he was condemning the inquiry by the ED against their party leaders. (Maxim News)
