Hyderabad, March 21: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion across Telangana on Saturday, March 21. The faithful offered special prayers at mosques and Eidgahs, marking the end of Ramadan with religious observance and community gatherings.
Across the state, people gathered early in the day for prayers. Meanwhile, prominent leaders also joined the celebrations. AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi offered prayers at the Eidgah ground in Hyderabad. Several other political leaders were also present among the faithful during the prayers.
Authorities ensured smooth arrangements for the occasion. Police made elaborate preparations to manage crowds and maintain order. Therefore, the prayers and celebrations proceeded without disruption in key areas.
Festive activity also peaked in the city ahead of Eid. The historic Lad Bazar near Charminar came alive on Friday night. Thousands of shoppers visited the area, with women thronging bangle shops. The market reflected the festive spirit as people prepared for the celebrations.
Meanwhile, several leaders extended greetings to the people. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao conveyed their wishes on the occasion.
Shiv Pratap Shukla highlighted the significance of Ramadan. He said it is a time of self-discipline and spiritual reflection. He urged people to uphold dignity, respect the sanctity of life, and follow religious teachings. He added, “I express my deep reverence for the teachings of the Holy Quran and their profound influence on society throughout history.”
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also shared his message. He said Eid is a time to reflect on compassion, generosity, and unity. He expressed hope that the festival would bring peace, prosperity, and harmony to every home. He also wished that it would strengthen the spirit of brotherhood among all communities.
Overall, Eid-ul-Fitr in Telangana saw large participation, smooth arrangements, and messages of unity from leaders.
