Election Code Comes Into Effect In Telangana: Seizes Even If One Rupee More Than Rs. 50,000
Hyderabad, Sept 30 (Maxim News): Election fever has started in the villages with the release of the local body election schedule. it is known that the State Election Commission released the local body election schedule on Monday (September 29). With the release of the election schedule, the election code of conduct came into effect across the state immediately. This election code of conduct will be in force from the time of release of the schedule until the election results are announced.
With the coming into force of the Election Code, some rules will change. The key one is the cash rule. According to the rules of the State Election Commission, when the Election Code is in force, a person is allowed to carry oly Rs. 50 thousand in cash. If there is more money than that and there are no proper documents, the police will seize it. If a large amount of cash is seized, it will be deposited in the court by the IT and GST officials.
If the money is less, it is deposited with the revenue officials. The EC has made it easier to carry more money for emergencies. Those who want to carry large amounts of cash for important needs like emergency medical treatment, college fees, business and weddings must carry the correct certificates.
If the evidence is not shown during the inspections, the seized money will be returned if these documents are submitted later. The police have been alerted as the Election Code came into effect in the state from Monday (September 29). To this end, the police and excise officials have started inspections from Monday. Vehicles were thoroughly searched on national, state and district highways. (Maxim News)
