Election Commission Suspends 106 Govt. Officials In Telangana

Siddipet/Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): The District Election Officer and Collector, Siddipet M. Manu Choudary has issued orders suspending 106 government employees (40 members of DRDA Staff and 66 members of staff of DRDA Siddipet) for attending the BRS party meeting on April 7 at Reddy Function Hall, Siddipet.

According to the District Election Officer, the Asst. Returning Officer, 33-Siddipet Assembly Segment within 06-Medak Parliamentary Constituency & Revenue Divisional Officer, Siddipet submitted that on receipt of telephonic message from  Raghunandan Rao, Ex-MLA, 41-Dubbak Assembly Constituency, BJP on 07-04-2024 alleging that BRS Party was conducting a meeting unauthorizedly in violation of MCC rules in connection with ensuing General Elections to Lok Sabha at Reddy Function Hall, Siddipet, in which some of the DRDA staff was attending the said party meeting and money distribution was also going on. Immediately, FST Team No. IV, headed by K. Pruthvi Raj, AEE, Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department, Municipality Siddipet was directed to take necessary action, and at about 10:00 PM on 07-04-2024 the FST Team No. IV inspected Reddy Function Hall Siddipet and found 10-15 persons were still in the meeting and the FST Team collected the CCTV Footage from the management of Reddy Function Hall. As per the CCTV Footage, it was found that BRS Party leaders conducted a meeting on 07-04-2024 in the said function hall unauthorizedly without obtaining any valid permission from the Assistant Returning Officer in violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Hence, FIR No. 112/2024, Dt: 08-04-2024 was lodged before Sub Inspector of Police, III- Town against Venkatram Reddy Parupally, BRS Party & Ravinder Reddy Mareddy BRS Party for conducting of unauthorized meeting without obtaining any valid permission by violating the Model Code of Conduct Rules issued by Election Commission of India vide ECI schedule date: 16-03-2024.

The Asst. The returning Officer reported that as per the CCTV Footage, it was found that in the said meeting the following DRDA Staff attended and requested to take necessary action.

The Asst. Returning Officer, also reported that the details of other employees who participated were yet to be identified.

To elicit the details of staff of DRDA Siddipet who attended the aforesaid meeting to examine the CCTV Footage and to submit the detailed report. (Maxim News)
