Encounter In Jammu And Kashmir: Army Surrounds Terrorists

Jammu & Kashmir/Hyderabad, Sept 8 (Maxim News): An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning. While the police were conducting a search operation in the Gudar forest area of South Kashmir, two terrorists reportedly opened fire on the security forces. The security forces retaliated, the Kashmir Zone Police said. One terrorist was killed and an officer was injured in the firing. A search operation is currently underway in the area. Security forces have cordoned off the forest area and it is learnt that three terrorists are hiding there.

Security forces launched a search operation in the Gudder forest area of Kulgam district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. While the search operation was going on, the operation suddenly turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire. Our jawans who responded immediately also retaliated. Meanwhile, the Kashmir Zone Police confirmed this in X Post.

Based on accurate information, the encounter started in the Gudder forest of Kulgam. Jammu and Kashmir Police, SOG, Army and CRPF teams participated in this operation. More details will be revealed soon. This operation is still ongoing. (Maxim News)
