Musi River will be beautified and commercial and recreational corridors will be established along the river to make it a tourist destination. A total cost of Rs. 1.50 lakh crore has been estimated for this. The government is moving forward to complete the Musi beautification project in 36 months.

HYDRA Eyes On Musi River

It is known that HYDRA is currently demolishing structures encroaching on ponds in the state. It is against this backdrop that the government now aims to complete the Musi River project. For this, the authorities will soon remove the temporary and permanent structures within the river FTL and buffer zone. But it seems that Revanth Sarkar has decided to give Indiramma houses to the families who will lose their homes in this eviction. The list of families related to this will also be announced in a few days.

The process of removing the structures will be taken up only after the houses are handed over to the respective families. HYDRA’s cooperation will also be taken for this. Demolition of sheds and godowns in Musi River FTL and buffer zones will be undertaken. The government has decided to remove all the illegal constructions before starting the Musi development project. For this, for the last three months, a survey was conducted with the revenue, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, and the officials of various departments of Hyderabad Joint Rangareddy districts. The survey was completed from the outer ring road in the west to the outer ring road at Korremula in the east. It has been found that there are more than 12,000 encroachments in the FTL and buffer zones for about 25 kilometers from Narsingi to Nagole Bridge.

Removing Encroachments In Hyderabad in the hands of HYDRA

Among these, there are mostly illegal structures in Charminar, Golconda, Himayatnagar, Bahadurpura, Nampally, Saidabad, Asifnagar, Amberpet and Bahadurpura mandals of Hyderabad district.  Moreover, many colonies were also formed in the Musi River itself. Houses were built in 30, 40, 60 yards. They set up residences without even a 10-foot path in between. Gandipet, Rajendranagar, Sarurnagar in Rangareddy district. Ramanthapur, Bhagayat, and other areas in Uppal mandal of Medchal district came together in the colony. However, the government will hand over the responsibility of removing all these encroachments to HYDRA.

Currently, many families are living in different areas along the Musi River. Officials are taking steps to satisfy them by giving Indiramma houses. Some have set up large-scale warehouses and sheds and are doing business in Musi River FTL and buffer zones. They are preparing to start the process of removing these soon. (Maxim News)
