Hyderabad: A final year engineering student died on the spot after a road accident near Abdullapurmet on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at Batasingaram, a suburb of Hyderabad. A bike and a scooty collided, and the students travelling on the bike fell under a lorry. The crash led to one death and left two other students seriously injured, police said.

According to the information available, the accident took place when a bike and a scooty collided on the road. Following the collision, the students on the bike lost balance. They then fell under a lorry moving on the same stretch. As a result, a final year engineering student died instantly at the scene. Meanwhile, two other students suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Local residents noticed the incident and immediately informed the police. Soon after, emergency services reached the spot. The injured students were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said doctors admitted the injured and provided medical care. The condition of the injured students was described as serious at the time they were shifted to the hospital.

The victims were identified as students of Brilliant Engineering College. It was learnt that the students were travelling together when the accident occurred. According to preliminary information, the accident happened while they were on their way to write an examination. However, police said they are continuing to verify the sequence of events that led to the collision.

Police reached the accident spot and began preliminary inquiries. They also spoke to locals who witnessed the incident. Meanwhile, traffic movement in the area was affected for some time following the accident. Police later cleared the road to restore normal flow of vehicles.

The death of the final year engineering student has caused shock among fellow students and local residents. Accidents involving heavy vehicles continue to raise safety concerns, especially on busy roads near educational institutions. Meanwhile, police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident and fix responsibility as per law.
