Hyderabad, Sept.12 (Maxim News): Civil Supplies & Finance Minister Etala Rajender today asked the Fair Price Shop dealers to ensure that the essential commodities are not diverted. “Let the ration items of rice and others reach the people and the dealers have to shoulder the responsibility of not diverting them”.
Giving away cheques of arrears to the ration dealers at a program in Secretariat here today, the minister said the State government wants welfare of all sections of people and gives equal priority to all sections to develop. “We will check diversion of the ration rice and others and stringent action would be taken if any sort of irregularities are found”, he said.
The minister said the State government’s aim was to provide essential commodities to the people, who should not be hungry. Vowing to strengthen the Civil Supplies system, he claimed that Telangana stood first in welfare in the country. He also clarified that the ration cards will remain in tact even if the holders do not take rice for much time. The dealers should cooperate with the officials of the Civil Supplies Department to see that the essentials reach the people. On humanitarian grounds, the government has increased salaries for Aasha and Anganwadi workers in the state, he added. (Maxim News)
