Etala Warns Private Hospitals For Creating Dengue Scare
Hyderabad, Sept.13 (Maxim News): Health Minister Etala Rajender today pulled up the officials concerned for failing to take preventive measures immediately when viral fevers broke out creating panic among the people. He also warned private hospitals of severe action for spreading rumors of dengue and viral fevers.
The Health Minister held a review meeting with collector and health officials in Karimnagar and expressed serious displeasure for not checking the spread of viral fevers. Though there is a panic of spread of the viral fevers and people are afraid of dengue the officials did not take measures to bring down panic situation, he said and urged the people not to worry about dengue which did not enter the State. Since there was no dengue in the State, the people should not worry about it, he said and asked the officials to resolve the issues locally.
Directing to address shortage of medicines, Rajender said the officials should recruit doctors and staff on temporary basis until permanent posts are filled and provide better health care services. “No patient should suffer from lack of staff or facilities”, he said. The village level primary hospitals have to provide proper healthcare services to people and avoid flocking the district hospitals, the minister felt. The minister also asked the officials to set up health camps in villages suffering from viral fevers. He said the private hospitals should not give hasty publicity on dengue fevers to compound panic among the patients.
The government will take serious action such hospitals he warned. The officials should conduct Elisa test to prove the existence of dengue fevers. He also asked the DHMO officials to release medical bulletin and others should not give any leaks on fevers and details. (Maxim News)
