Hyderabad, May 9 (Maxim News): Health Minister Eatala Rajender launched TConsult telemedicine project in Karimnagar to provide tele consultations through a video link. The project will start from Jammikunata constitutency and later will be extended to the entire Karimnagar district. The app has become a key link connecting medical professional, patients and local pharmacy stores as well.
The Health Minister, who launched the TConsult services virtually on Friday from his chambers at the Secretariat, lauded the efforts of software professionals body Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA), which pioneered the telemedicine project effort.
The virtual consultation has turned a boon to many in the times of lockdown. TConsult aided people stay at home, maintain social distance and also have access to medical consultations at the same time virtually, he said.
Eatala also appreciated the various efforts that TITA, its partners and affiliates have undertaken as part of their efforts to fight coronavirus. He also recollected that TITA was a the first one to conduct a Covid-19 themed hackathon as part of its efforts to find solutions in the fight against the coronavirus.
The Health Minister asked the people of Jammikunta, the constituency which he represents, to use TConsult and take benefit of the health services offered on it.
The Health Minister, for a firsthand feel of the system, made the inaugural call using the TConsult Karimnagar Platform. He interacted with psychologist Dr C Veerender and pulmonologist & Swasha Hospitals chief Dr Vishnum Rao Veerapaneni through the video conference platfrom.
Karimnagar Collector Shashanka Konduru said TConsult has a potential to bring about qualitative change in the health landscape of districts. He said he has seen the works like Digithon that TITA had taken up in Gadwal, where he was the Collector earlier.
Earlier, this week Industries and IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, who was impressed with the impact of TConsult, too had recommended District Collectors to consider implementing the TConsult.
Speaking on the occasion, TITA Global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said TConsult was already launched in four other districts – Narayanpet, Yadadri Bhongir, Mulugu & Medak and has proved effective in offering consultation to people in the times of lockdown.
Several doctors have already been empanelled with TITA to offer consultations. The doctors, including super specialists, list out the times they will be available to offer consultations and people book appointments accordingly. The Panchayat offices have been made the nodal centres for TConsult while Panchayat Secretaries will be the nodal officers for this project. TITA will use the experience and feedback from the previous launches to enhance the offering, Makthala said.
