Etela Rajender Introduced Rs 1.46 Lakh Cr Budget-2017 | Telagana Budget-2017
Hyderabad, March 13 (Maxim News): Telangana Finance Minister Eetala Rajendar here on Monday present Rs. 1.46 crore Budget, at 12 noon, in Telangana Assembly.
Most of the allocations was made for welfare measured. A sum of Rs. 25,000 cr is being allocated for completion of irrigation projects. A major portion of the budget earmarked for double bedroom houses. At least Rs. 30,000 crore will be earmarked for welfare schemes. The usual practice of declaring planning and non-planning expenditure will be done away with.
Finance minister Etala Rajender presents the State’s fourth budget. Here are the highlights from his budget speech:
- State’s Per Capita Income in 2016-17 is estimated to increase to Rs 1,58,360 this year from Rs 1,40,683 in 2015-16
- State’s per capita income in 2016-17 is significantly higher than national average of Rs 1,03,818
- TS growth in annual per capita income improved from 11.2 per cent in 2013-14 to 12.6 per cent in 2016-17 as against the declining national trend of 11.5 per cent to 10.2 for the same period
- This revival is proof of total neglect of Telangana in unidivided AP
- Rs 50,954.61 crore committed expenditure under revenue heads in 2017-18
- Of this, Rs 4,659.48 crore earmarked for loan repayments, Rs 5,544.85 crore towards loans and advances, Rs 448.26 crore for capital heads
- Major transition from shackled economy to economy fulfilling aspirations of people
- Periodic review of utilisation of funds for SC, ST welfare, quarterly reports to be submitted to legislature

- TS witnessing distinct upward shift in growth trajectory ever since its formation
- GSDP growth at constant prices (2011-12) improved from 5.6 per cent in 2013-14 to 8.7 per cent in 2014-15, and to 9.5 per cent in 2015-16
- Latest GSDP growth at constant prices in 2016-17 is likely to be 10.1 per cent as against expected national GDP growth of 7.1 per cent
- TS records 19.61 per cent revenue growth this fiscal, higher than most other States despite demonetisation
